Curious about beekeeping? We have added an online course for beginners. This 2 hour course will cover a brief intro to honey bee biology, a seasonal review of what to expect in your first year as a beekeeper in northern climates, necessary tools and equipment, and info on how to get started.

Not ready to commit to our 12 week Camp Beez Kneez program but want to put some “pollen in your baskets?” Sign up for 1 or more hands-on, 1.5-2 hour classes. These classes will cover pertinent management for the time of year. Bring questions about your own hives to get a hands on lesson on what you should be doing in your hive that week/month including mite testing, splitting, honey harvest, finding and/or marking your queen and so much more! ****Protective gear required

CAMP BEEZ KNEEZ™ is a 12-Week Long Beekeeping Course. Classes are 2 Hours of Hands-On Instruction.
Join solo or in a group (max of 3 people - include a friend or family member for the same price) Every student or student group is assigned their own hive to learn from. Education apiaries are located at beautiful natural locations. Outdoor education in the apiary (except class orientation and the honey harvest class)

Beekeeping is all about knowing what to do when. Are you a seasoned beekeeper that needs some guidance during crucial times of the year? Have you already taken Camp Beez Kneez Year 1? Due to popular demand, we have decided to offer a year 2 version of Camp Beez Kneez. Six classes that cover the crucial management techniques in year 2. Early winter management, splitting, requeening, swarm control, fall mite management. All classes will include mite management.

Building a community of beekeepers
We have been teaching beekeeping classes since 2015 and are proud of the community of beekeepers we are able to share knowledge with. Beekeeping is not what it used to be. Bees, and therefore beekeepers, are facing many challenges. To be good stewards of the land and healthy ecosystems, we have an obligation to approach bees and beekeeping in a responsible manner. Just like bees, you will work and learn as a group to strengthen your abilities and our growing community of beekeepers. All experience levels welcome and encouraged.
